CHRISTIAN ROMANCE SHORT STORY: HOSEA 101(LOVE UNFEIGNED)

HOSEA 101: LOVE UNFEIGNED A Bible retelling of the story of Hosea and Gomer. Published in the Shuzia Magazine: Love Issue Volume 2 ~~~   The minute Henry stepped on the threshold of his house and heard muffled sounds of pleasure coming from the room he shared with Lilian, his wife, it was as though the air became toxic and the bouquet of white roses he held in his hand wilted.  Rage surged in his head like a volcano as the implication dawned on him.  She was cheating. Again. And this time so boldly. In his house! On their matrimonial bed! On their anniversary of all the days! Shaking in anger, he shut out the grotesque picture of whatever might be happening behind that door and wearily went to his son's room.  Henry found Larry deeply asleep. He suspected this was the doing of Lilian—she had probably given their naive four-year-old boy some sleeping pills. Tears sprang up in Henry's eyes. He wanted to snatch up his son and run away from the vicinity of this sin-craz

CHRISTIAN BIBLE ROMANCE SHORT STORY: COMPLETELY MINE

COMPLETELY MINE   That night, Hosea wasn't expecting a visitation, not after what he had carnally feasted his eyes on during the day.  It had been gruesome, disgusting even, but he still watched, especially at the most alluring object of the whole scene, until the mounting pressure in his chest grew too much for him to contain.  When had Israel strayed so far? Had things degraded to this hopeless state? Where was the God of the stories of the holy prophets and priests of old? He saw young ladies, who should have been modestly covered, gyrating wildly as though possessed by vile demons from Sheol.  His eyes had been especially fixed on a particular specimen. Her gait was a bit familiar, like a distant memory.  Her movements were the most sensuous, her meagre clothing the most cobwebby. Her eyes and gestures were bold. She shook her hips to the rhythm of the fanfare.  It was obvious she was a temple prostitute for the heathen goddess, Asherah, who was being celebrated thr

Christmas Short Story: Ultimate Sacrifice

ULTIMATE SACRIFICE Michelle hurriedly dialled the emergency number and paced as sweat gathered on her brows. It wasn't every day that she'd be in the custody of a sixty-something-year-old woman in the first stages of labour.  She had been putting plates into the automatic dishwasher as she hummed a merry tube when Aunt Lizzy suddenly gasped and turned as white as fluorescent lights. "I think the baby is coming," Aunt Lizzy had gasped. A guttural cry tore out of her throat as she doubled over, face contoured in pain.  "Oh, Adonai!" Michelle dumped the china cups she had been holding into the sink, her small baby bump feeling suddenly weightier.   After giving directions to the emergency service midwifery team, she looked at Mr Zach in the wheelchair as his eyes darted frantically back and forth. It was obvious the man would slip into a panic attack if she didn't calm him down.  Too bad the man was immobilized, he would have driven them to the

A Dream to Remember

Welcome to another episode of our book review on this book-loving platform. And today, I bring a lovely short story in tow with me.  It's titled A Dream to Remember , written by Esther Friday, a budding author who shows great potential. I seriously cannot wait to read more from her.  How I discovered the book A dear friend of mine and author of Teleporter, Muna Fausta, made a post on her Facebook wall about how she edited this particular story and raved about how good it was. I promptly joined the link that led to the book launch of this particular story. I'm glad I did because not only was the book launch so exciting, but I learnt so much and was able to make meaningful connections.  My take on the story It was a wonderful read. I loved every bit of it. I randomly opened it when I was getting sleepy in one of my lectures and I was hooked in. I read everything in less than 15 minutes. With three chapters and 26 pages, it's very easy to read in one sitting.  PS:

Christian Fiction Review: Adaeze

ADAEZE BY UCHE VICTORIA CHIOMA Hello, dearie! Welcome, welcome! I'm super happy that you decided to stop in and check out this blog. You won't regret the time you're investing by coming here because I have an amazing story ready to share with you.  Title Adaeze, as you might have already guessed, is the name of the main character in the story. From my little knowledge of Igbo, the name is a combination of two Igbo words—Ada meaning daughter and Eze meaning King. So Adaeze means daughter of the king. A befitting name indeed for the main character in the story.  Book Cover I like the simplicity of the book cover design. Blue and white as the main colours provide a sense of trust and calm that immediately draws you into the story.  Also, the vector silhouette of the girl in a prayer posture is just so endearing for anyone interested in wholesome Christian stories.  Characters  All the characters were well rounded and I loved each of them, except for th

Christian Novel Review: Annabel Lee

Hey there, buddy! Welcome to another juicy book review. Hope you have a wonderful ride.  Title and Book Cover  The title doesn't give off much except that this is the name of the main character in the story.  As will be revealed in the story, I really bonded with the character because she, though initially vulnerable at the beginning, evolved to become a character so strong that fear and extreme isolation and gore couldn't faze her.  Apparently, there was something so special about this girl—she was a genius with languages and her blood had a special, mystic quality—that made her to be hunted by those who called themselves blood eaters.  I especially like the sense of mystery the book cover gives. Gives an eerie vibe. The picture used was the underground bunker where Uncle Truck hid Annabel, where most of the story was set.  About the Book Fourteen miles east of Peachtree, Alabama, a secret is hidden. That secret's name is Annabel Lee Truckson, and e

The book is a series of five books in total (as of now). The first two are in what's called "Time before Time series" while the remaining three are in "Brothers series". Book art for Chronicles of Brothers (www.chroniclesofbrothers.com) 1. The Fall of Lucifer (Book One) Let's kick things off with the first book in the series, "The Fall of Lucifer."
